Parking Meter People

Three parking meter people stand in a parking area at the corner of NE 1st Avenue and NE 2nd Street. The metal stick figure people have parking meter heads and wear gloves on their metal pole arms.

Officially named "Meter Men," they were created by David Gourchenhour back in 1990 to guard a meter-free parking lot. The lot is still there, but one foot and two Meter Men hands have been lost to the elements.
