Ray Boessel, Jr. is one of the last remaining carpenters in North America to making birch bark canoes like those used by the Indians, voyageurs, fur-traders, and early settlers. At Hafeman Boat Works he makes them each by hand, using no screws, nails, or glue. Each one is a beautiful, hand-crafted masterpiece.
