Lots of space to stop and take photos of the windmill. Also has a historical marker on the road.
[Marty Smith, 09/26/2014]The Spocott Windmill
The Spocott Windmill is Maryland's last remaining operational English-style post windmill. It was rebuilt in the 1970s from parts of an 1880s windmill on the same property. It's quite the sight as you drive toward it. Also on-site is a one-room schoolhouse and a country store museum.
The state of Maryland operates the windmill about twice a year, usually mid-April and mid-October. We were lucky enough to pass through Cambridge on Earth Day weekend to see it operating.
