Steve Canyon Statue
The statue is smaller than you would expect. It is in front of the creek. If it's a nice day, it is neat to take note of the statue while on a walk.
[Adventures Of Cluckleberry Hen, 07/01/2017]Actually. the Steve Canyon Statue is way bigger than 4 ft., and the historic log cabin behind it houses KGoat Radio, a listener-sponsored and -staffed community radio station, one of the best in the country (especially for a small mountain town). Idaho Springs itself is a great real mountain town -- not a tourist trap or slick ski town.
[James Martin, 08/24/2016]I visited this "statue" recently, and I would say it isn't worth the time. The picture is extremely deceiving. The statue is actually about four feet tall and next to a rather unispiring building. The town it's in is actually quite nice though -- the Heritage Inn has huge rooms and there's an internet cafe and a few bars in town. Just don't be expecting a huge monument to Steve Canyon, the cartoon man you've never heard of.
