Uniroyal Gal: Wonder Woman
Dallas, Georgia
Type: Uniroyal Gal (18 ft. tall)
Arm position: Standard
Accessories: Go-go boots, skirt
Nickname: Wonder Woman
This 18-foot-tall fiberglass giantess, an original Uniroyal Gal, stood in front of Griffith Tire Co. in Winter Garden, Florida, from at least 1968 until the mid-1990s. Dubbed "Big Mama," she wore a yellow blouse and blue skirt, and held a tire in her upraised hand.
By 1999 Big Mama had been moved to a boat business further down Highway 50. She had shed her clothes, wearing only her red bikini bathing suit, and remained an important statue stop for Roadsiders until the boat business closed in 2001-02.
After some sleuthing by American Giants, the Uniroyal Gal was rediscovered in late 2016, lying in a Florida backyard with her discarded clothes. AG had the statue locally stored, and moved it north for restoration in July 2017.
The giantess was purchased by Mike Whitman in Dallas, Georgia, and by early May 2018 she had been re-outfitted in Wonder Woman colors and garb and erected next to strip mall. "I wanted a patriotic theme," said Mike. "The more patriotic, the less chance they'd stop me from putting it up."
