21-Foot-Tall Transformer Robot
Port Hope, Ontario
Although not officially an Optimus Prime, the 21-foot-tall robot that stands outside a Canadian antiques and crafts store sure looks like one. Sculpted over seven months in Southeast Asia, the robot -- made of old truck, scooter, and lawnmower parts -- arrived in late 2012 to much local hullabaloo. Owners Ron Dacey and Rhonda Cook commissioned it as a way to mark the 10th anniversary of their store, Primitive Designs, which sells smaller robots, also made in Southeast Asia (Are there no Canadian robot builders?). Probably the biggest robot in North America.
